Joy
Peanut butter and happy thoughts work wonders for motivation - just like almonds and raisins are thought to do for the brain, except in this case the effects are immediate and very apparent.
Nutella ran out for the first time in MONTHS yesterday (gasp!), but I now have a newfound love for chunky peanut butter. Joy! Two generous tablespoons of the good stuff is enough emotional fuel for the whole evening :D
As for the happy thoughts...
- Walk to the field at dusk and take a nice picture of the sunset. DU's sunsets are really beautiful sometimes, especially on really hot days, only they get taken for granted.
- Cut hair. Liberation!
- Re-watch Pirates of the Caribbean, all three of them.
Yay!
P.S. Pictures on this blog are normally my own, but I didn't take this one. It just looked... too good! Credits to the anonymous photographer!

Just dropping by
Today, there was a new post on psychologytoday.com titled 'Read This Post For Good Luck. Seriously.'
And I did!
Well actually I only read the title, the first paragraph and the photo caption, but surely trying for vague luck is better than nothing. Anyway, the article was about how superstition influences even the non-superstitious (a prime example being how I clicked on that particular title despite knowing that it was just a cheap gimmick to get more people to read it) - I would normally have read it all, except right now I feel like a wilted plant.
Relax, SPM-takers. We'll all be fine. :)

Sinfully heavenly
...And when the willpower is at an all-time low, too. But nemind, only a month left till the return to mindful eating and exercise, and the luxury of beauty sleep!
"Today, I was stealing some ice cream from one of my roommates. As I sat down to watch some TV, he walked out of his bedroom with my other roommate's bag of potato chips. Right after that, the other roommate walked into the room, with one of my cans of pop. Without a word, we all passed the food to its respective owner, and went back to what we were doing. MLIA"
Hahaha. Why can't my life be as average? Huh huh huh? Raaar.
Tomorrow, I will be going to school to escape a bunch of rambunctious (I predict) and very enthusiastic people, who will be dancing to Super Junior's Sorry Sorry downstairs. Run!

Three beautiful things
- One of my closest and dearest friends lives just next door. I can barge in at any time of day and roar at her, and she'll roar right back - mid-manga or mid-Super-Junior - and we play until someone laughs. I always lose because it's too funny, but it makes for wonderful therapy anyway.
- I woke up early enough this morning for my Mummy to give me a hug before leaving for work.
- My friends and I know that we'll stay close although I'm going someplace else next year. Sure, we won't see each other every single day anymore, but there is much to be said for mindful nurturing of friendships (as opposed to the environment and circumstances doing the job for you).
- I just visited the blogs of two different people: one of them wrote his most recent post to re-motivate his sluggish, unproductive self, while the other tells his readers about 'three beautiful things' about his day/week in every post. I am reminded that being appreciative, observant and passionate in doing things and living life in general, makes for an emotionally healthier and much happier person.
Well, make that four...
The sun's up. :)

A mint occasion
Someone's officially thirteen now, and quirkier than ever. :P
It seems that first loves are more important than they have been given credit for. For better or worse, they impact how a person views, feels about and handles relationships all through their lives. So parents who deprive their growing adolescents of such an experience don't know what they're doing to their kids' futures.

Sticky inspiration

Post-it notes come out to play in this household when exam season creeps in. (And case it isn't obvious, not all of them are mine!)
